Dr Kushan Karunaratne is a consultant neurologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He qualified from King's College London and completed his neurology specialist training at Charing Cross Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

He has specialist expertise in management of first seizures, blackouts and epilepsy. At his NHS trust, he is the first seizure clinic lead and undertakes complex epilepsy clinics. He routinely sees patients with epilepsy for second opinions. He also works closely with the neuro-oncology team and sees patients with brain tumour related epilepsy.


He is experienced in managing patients with general neurological conditions such as headache (including chronic migraine), dizziness, stroke, tremor, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, neuroinflammation, dementia, peripheral nerve and neuromuscular conditions.
